Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.

(It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)

因此，他的姐妹们就派人去见他，说，主啊，看啊，你所爱的人病了。

Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.

耶稣听见这事，说，这病不至于死，而是为神的荣耀，叫神的儿子因此被荣耀。
当耶稣听见这事，他说，这个病不至于死，而是为了神的荣耀，使神的儿子可以因此被荣耀。

When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.

When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.

Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.

门徒说：“拉比，犹太人近来要拿石头打你，你还往那里去吗？”
His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?

耶稣回答：白天不是有十二小时吗？人在白天走路，就不至跌倒，因为看见这世界的光。
耶稣回答，白天里不是有十二小时？如果任何人在白天行走，他就不会绊倒，因为他看见了这世界的光。
耶稣回答说：“白日不是有十二小时吗？人在白日走路，就不至跌倒，因为看见这世上的光。
Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.

若在黑夜走路，就必跌倒，因为他里面没有光。
但如果一个人在夜里行走，他就会绊倒，因为没有光在他里面。
若在黑夜走路，就必跌倒，因为他没有光。”
But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.

他说了这些事，随后对他们说，我们的朋友拉撒路睡了，我去叫醒他。
他说了这些事情；之后他就对他们说，我们的朋友拉撒如斯睡了；但我去，这样我就可以叫醒他。
耶稣说了这话，随后对他们说：“我们的朋友拉撒路睡了，我去叫醒他。”
These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

他的门徒们说，主啊，他若睡了，就必好了。
于是他的门徒们说，主，如果他睡了，他就会没事的。
门徒说：“主啊，他若睡了，就必好了。”
Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.

然而耶稣这话是指着他的死说的，他们却以为是说睡觉休息。
然而耶稣说的是他的死亡；但他们以为他说的是睡觉休息。

Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.

耶稣就明明地对他们说，拉撒路死了。

Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

我没有在那里就欢喜，这是为你们的缘故，好叫你们相信。然而我们可以往他那里去了。
为你们的缘故我高兴我不在那里，目的是你们可以相信；不管怎样，让我们去他那里吧。
我没有在那里就欢喜，这是为你们的缘故，好叫你们相信。如今我们可以往他那里去吧。”
And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.

多马，又称为低土马，就对那同作门徒的说，我们也去和他同死吧。
于是托马斯，又叫迪迪摩斯，就对那些同作门徒的说，让我们也去，这样我们就可以和他一起死。
多马，又称为低土马，就对那同作门徒的说：“我们也去和他同死吧。”
Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.

耶稣到了，他知道拉撒路安放在坟墓里已经四天了。
于是当耶稣来到时，他发现他已经躺在坟墓里四天了。

Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.

伯大尼离耶路撒冷不远，约有十五弗隆的路。
贝撒尼靠近耶路撒冷，约有十五弗隆的距离；

Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:

有许多犹太人来看马大和马利亚，要为她们的兄弟安慰她们。
犹太人中有许多来到马莎和马瑞那里，去为她们的弟兄安慰她们。
有好些犹太人来看马大和马利亚，要为她们的兄弟安慰她们。
And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.

马大一听见耶稣来了，就出去迎接他；马利亚却仍然坐在家里。
那时马莎，她一听见耶稣要来，就去迎接他；但马瑞仍然坐在家里。
马大听见耶稣来了，就出去迎接他；马利亚却仍然坐在家里。
Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.

然后马大对耶稣说，主啊，如果你在这里，我兄弟必不死。
于是马莎对耶稣说，主，如果你在这里，我的弟兄就不会死了。
马大对耶稣说：“主啊，你若早在这里，我兄弟必不死。
Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
22
但我知道，就是现在你无论向神求什么，神也必给你。
但我知道，即使是现在，你无论向神要什么，神都愿意把它给你。
就是现在，我也知道，你无论向神求什么，　神也必赐给你。”
But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
23
耶稣对她说，你兄弟必然复活。
耶稣对她说，你的弟兄会复活。
耶稣说：“你兄弟必然复活。”
Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
24
马大对他说，我知道在末日复活的时候，他必复活。
马莎对他说，我知道在末日复活的时候，他会复活。
马大说：“我知道在末日复活的时候，他必复活。”
Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
25
耶稣对她说，我是复活和生命。相信我的人虽然死了，也必复活，
耶稣对她说，我是复活，和生命；那相信我的人，他即使死了，他仍然会活着；
耶稣对她说：“复活在我，生命也在我。信我的人虽然死了，也必复活；
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

凡活着信我的人必永远不死。你相信这话吗？
无论谁活着又相信我就永远不会死。你相信这个吗？
凡活着信我的人必永远不死。你信这话吗？”
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
27
她对他说，是的，主啊，我相信你是基督，神的儿子，就是那要临到世界的。
她对他说，是的，主；我相信你是那受膏者，神的儿子，就是那会来进入这世界的。
马大说：“主啊，是的，我信你是基督，是　神的儿子，就是那要临到世界的。”
She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.

马大说了这话，就回去暗暗地叫她妹子马利亚，说，师傅来了，叫你。
当她这样说了，她就走了，然后悄悄地叫她姐妹马瑞，说，师傅来了，叫你。
马大说了这话，就回去暗暗地叫她妹子马利亚，说：“夫子来了，叫你。”
And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.

她一听见，就急忙起来，到他那里去。

As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him.

那时，耶稣还没有进到城镇，仍在马大迎接他的地方。

Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him.

那些同马利亚在家里安慰她的犹太人，见她急忙起来出去，就跟着她，说，她要往坟墓那里去哭。
于是那些和马瑞一起在家里安慰她的犹太人，当他们看见她急忙起来出去，就跟着她，说，她到坟墓那里去哭泣。

The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there.

当马利亚到了耶稣那里，看见他，就俯伏在他脚前，对他说，主啊，如果你在这里，我兄弟必不死。
于是当马瑞来到耶稣那里，看见他，她就俯伏在他脚前，对他说，主，如果你在这里，我的弟兄就不会死了。

Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

耶稣看见她哭，并看见与她一起来的犹太人也哭，他就灵里悲叹，又忧愁，
当耶稣看见她哭泣，和她一起来的犹太人也哭泣，他就在灵里呻吟，又烦恼，

When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled.

说，你们把他安放在哪里？他们对他说，主，来看。
就说，你们把他放在哪里？他们对他说，主，来看。
便说：“你们把他安放在哪里？”他们回答说：“请主来看。”
And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.

耶稣哭了。
耶稣就哭了。
耶稣哭了。
Jesus wept.
36
然后犹太人说，看啊，他是何等爱这人。
于是犹太人说，看，他是那么爱他！
犹太人就说：“你看他爱这人是何等恳切。”
Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!
37
其中有人说，他既然开了瞎子的眼睛，难道不能叫这人不死吗？
并且他们中的一些说，这人既然打开了瞎子的眼睛，难道不能致使这个人不死？
其中有人说：“他既然开了瞎子的眼睛，岂不能叫这人不死吗？”
And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?

耶稣自己里面悲叹，来到坟墓前；那坟墓是个洞，有一块石头挡着。
因此，耶稣自己里面再次呻吟，来到坟墓那里。它是一个洞，有一块石头放在它上面。
耶稣又心里悲叹，来到坟墓前；那坟墓是个洞，有一块石头挡着。
Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.

耶稣说，你们把石头挪开。那死人的姐姐马大对他说，主啊，他现在必是臭了，因为他死了已经四天了。
耶稣说，你们把这石头挪开。那死人的姐妹马莎对他说，主，到这个时候他臭了；因他已经死了四天了。
耶稣说：“你们把石头挪开。”那死人的姐姐马大对他说：“主啊，他现在必是臭了，因为他死了已经四天了。”
Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
40
耶稣对她说，我不是对你说过，你若相信，就必看见神的荣耀吗？
耶稣对她说，我不是对你说过，就是，如果你愿意信，你就会看见神的荣耀？
耶稣说：“我不是对你说过，你若信，就必看见　神的荣耀吗？”
Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
41
他们就把石头从安放死人的地方挪开。耶稣举目望天说，父啊，我感谢你，因为你已经听我。
于是他们就把石头从放死人的地方挪开。然后耶稣抬起他的眼睛，就说，父亲，我感谢你，你已经听了我。
他们就把石头挪开。耶稣举目望天，说：“父啊，我感谢你，因为你已经听我。
Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

我也知道你常听我，但我说这话是为旁边站着的众人，叫他们信是你差了我来。
并且我知道你总是听我；但我说这话是为旁边站着的人民，使他们可以信是你派了我。
我也知道你常听我，但我说这话是为周围站着的众人，叫他们信是你差了我来。”
And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
43
当他说了这话，就大声呼叫说，拉撒路，出来。
当他这样说了，他就用一个响亮的声音呼喊，拉撒如斯，出来。
说了这话，就大声呼叫说：“拉撒路出来！”
And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
44
那死人就出来了，手脚缠着裹尸布，脸上包着手巾。耶稣对他们说，解开他，叫他走。
然后那死人就出来了，手脚捆绑着裹尸布；并且他的脸上捆绑着手巾。耶稣对他们说，解开他，让他走。

And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

那些来看马利亚的犹太人见了耶稣所作的事，就相信他；
于是来到马瑞那里，又看见耶稣做的事的许多犹太人，就信靠了他。

Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.

但其中也有去见法利赛人的，将耶稣所作的事告诉他们。

But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.

祭司长和法利赛人聚集公会，说，这人行许多神迹，我们怎么办呢？
于是祭司首领和法利赛人就聚集了议会，说，我们怎么办？因这个人做了许多神迹。
祭司长和法利赛人聚集公会，说：“这人行好些神迹，我们怎么办呢？
Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.

若这样由着他，所有人都要信他，罗马人也要来夺我们的地土和我们的国民。
如果我们让他这样不管，所有人都会信靠他；并且罗马人也会来夺走我们的地盘和我们的国家。
若这样由着他，人人都要信他，罗马人也要来夺我们的地土和我们的百姓。”
If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.

他们中有一个人，名叫该亚法，本年作大祭司，对他们说，你们完全不知道。
然后他们中的一个，叫凯亚法斯，是当年的大祭司，对他们说，你们什么都不知道，
内中有一个人，名叫该亚法，本年作大祭司，对他们说：“你们不知道什么。
And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,

独不想一个人替这百姓死，免得所有国民灭亡，就是我们的益处。
也不考虑，这是为了我们的益处，就是一个人为人民死，从而全国都不灭亡。
独不想一个人替百姓死，免得通国灭亡，就是你们的益处。”
Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.

他这话不是出于自己，是因他本年作大祭司，所以预言耶稣将要替这国民死；
他这样说不是出于他自己；而是作为那年的大祭司，他预言了耶稣会为那国家而死；

And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;

也不但替这国民死，并要将神四散的儿女都聚集归一。
不仅只是为了那国家而死，而且他也会把被分散到外面的神的孩子们聚集到一起成为一。

And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

从那天起，他们就一起商议要杀他。

Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.

所以，耶稣不再公开走在犹太人中间，就离开那里往靠近旷野的地方去，到了一座城，名叫以法莲，就在那里和他的门徒们一起住。
因此，耶稣不再公开在犹太人当中行走；而是从那里去到靠近荒野的一个地区，进入一座叫以法莲的城，就与他的门徒们一直在那里。
所以，耶稣不再显然行在犹太人中间，就离开那里往靠近旷野的地方去，到了一座城，名叫以法莲，就在那里和门徒同住。
Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.

And the Jews' passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the passover, to purify themselves.

他们就寻找耶稣，站在殿里彼此说，你们的意思如何，他不来过节吗？
于是他们就寻找耶稣，他们在殿里站着时，就在他们自己当中说，你们怎么想，他不会来过节吗？

Then sought they for Jesus, and spake among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What think ye, that he will not come to the feast?

那时，祭司长和法利赛人早已命令说，若有人知道他在哪里，他就要报告，他们好去抓他。
现在祭司首领和法利赛人都已经下了一个诫命，就是，如果有任何人知道他在哪里，他就要说出来，从而他们可以去抓他。
那时，祭司长和法利赛人早已吩咐说，若有人知道耶稣在哪里，就要报明，好去拿他。
Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him.
