Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,

一个人能使神受益，如同智慧人使自己受益吗？
一个人能使神受益，就像智慧人使自己受益？
“人岂能使 神有益呢？智慧人但能有益于己。
Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?

你公义，能叫全能者喜悦吗？你行为完全，能使他得利吗？
你是正义的，这能给全能者喜悦？或者，你的众道路是完美的，这能使他有收益？
你为人公义，岂叫全能者喜悦呢？你行为完全，岂能使他得利呢？
Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect?

难道是因你的畏惧他就责备你？他会与你一起进入审判？
他会因对你的畏惧而责备你？他会与你一起进入判决？
岂是因你敬畏他就责备你、审判你吗？
Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment?

你的罪恶难道不是大吗？你的罪孽难道不是没有穷尽吗？
难道不是你的邪恶巨大？难道不是你的罪过无穷尽？
你的罪恶岂不是大吗？你的罪孽也没有穷尽；
Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite?

因你无故取你弟兄的物为抵押，剥去他们的衣服。
因你白白地拿了你弟兄的抵押物，又脱光他们的衣服。
因你无故强取弟兄的物为当头，剥去贫寒人的衣服。
For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.

困乏的人，你没有给他水喝。饥饿的人，你没有给他食物。
你没有给困倦的人水喝；并且你抓住饼不给饥饿的人。
困乏的人，你没有给他水喝；饥饿的人，你没有给他食物。
Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.

有能力的人就得地土；尊贵的人也住在其中。
但至于大能的人，他拥有了这地；并且尊贵的人住在其中。
有能力的人就得地土；尊贵的人也住在其中。
But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.

你让寡妇空手回去，折断孤儿的膀臂。
你让寡妇空手而归，又让无父者的膀臂被折断。
你打发寡妇空手回去，折断孤儿的膀臂。
Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
- 10
因此，有网罗环绕你，有忽然而来的畏惧困扰你；
因此，有网罗围绕你，又有忽然而来的畏惧搅扰你；
因此，有网罗环绕你，有恐惧忽然使你惊惶；
Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;

或有黑暗蒙蔽你，并有极多的水淹没你。
或黑暗使你无法观看；并充足的水遮盖你。
或有黑暗蒙蔽你，并有洪水淹没你。
Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.

神难道不是在高天吗？你看众星何其高呢！
神不是在天的高处吗？看那高处的众星，它们多高啊！
“ 神岂不是在高天吗？你看星宿何其高呢！
Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!
- 13
你说，神如何知道？他难道能穿透黑云施行审判吗？
你说，神怎么知道？他能穿透黑云审判吗？
你说： 神知道什么？他岂能看透幽暗施行审判呢？
And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?
- 14
密云将他遮盖，使他不能看见；他周游穹苍。
密云对他是一个罩，使他看不见；他就在天上的圈里行走。
密云将他遮盖，使他不能看见；他周游穹苍。
Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.

你有留意上古的道吗？这道是恶人所行的。
你注意过旧时的道路，就是邪恶的人被践踏吗？
你要依从上古的道吗？这道是恶人所行的。
Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?
- 16
他们不到时间，就被剪除。他们的根基被洪水冲去。
他们从时间里被剪除，他们的根基被洪水冲去；
他们未到死期，忽然除灭；根基毁坏，好像被江河冲去。
Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:
- 17
他们向神说，离开我们吧；全能者能为他们作什么？
他们向神说，离开我们吧；全能者还能为他们做什么？
他们向 神说：‘离开我们吧！’又说：‘全能者能把我们怎么样呢？’
Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?
- 18
哪知神以美物充满他们的房屋；但恶人所谋定的离我好远。
然而他们的家里充满了各种好东西；但邪恶者的建议是远离我的。
哪知 神以美物充满他们的房屋；但恶人所谋定的离我好远。
Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

义人看见它就欢喜；无辜的人嗤笑他们。
正义者看见它就高兴；无辜的人笑他们以致鄙视。
义人看见他们的结局就欢喜；无辜的人嗤笑他们，
The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn.
- 20
然而，我们的货财未被剪除，但是他们所剩的都被火烧灭。
然而，我们的实物未被剪除，但是他们剩下的都被火消灭。
说：‘那起来攻击我们的果然被剪除，其余的都被火烧灭。’
Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.

你要认识神，就得平安；福气也必临到你。
现在你自己要与他相识，就有和平；借此好事就来到你这里。
“你要认识 神，就得平安；福气也必临到你。
Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
- 22
我求你接受他口所出的律法，将他的话存在你的心里。
我请求你接受从他口而来的法律，把他的话语存在你的心里。
你当领受他口中的教训，将他的言语存在心里。
Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.
- 23
你若转向全能者，从你帐幕中远除不义，就必得建立。
如果你转向全能者，你就要从你的帐幕中除掉罪过，就会被建立。
你若归向全能者，从你帐棚中远除不义，就必得建立。
If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.

这样你积蓄的金子就必如尘土，俄斐的黄金也必如溪河石头；
那时你的金子就会像尘土一样堆积，奥菲耳的黄金像溪流中的石头一样多。
要将你的珍宝丢在尘土里，将俄斐的黄金丢在溪河石头之间；
Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.

全能者就必作保护你的，你也必得许多银。
是的，全能者就会作你的防卫，你还会有许多银子。
全能者就必为你的珍宝，作你的宝银。
Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.
- 26
你就要以全能者为喜乐，向神仰起脸来。
那时你就会在你的全能者里有喜悦，又会向神抬起你的脸来。
你就要以全能者为喜乐，向 神仰起脸来。
For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
- 27
你要祷告他，他就听你，你也要还你的愿。
你会向他作祷告，他会听你，你也会偿付你的众誓言。
你要祷告他，他就听你；你也要还你的愿。
Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.
- 28
你定意要作何事，必然给你成就。光也必照耀你的路。
你定下一件事，就会为你建立；光也会照在你的众道路上。
你定意要做何事，必然给你成就；亮光也必照耀你的路。
Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

人使你降低，你仍可说，必得升高；他必拯救谦卑的人。
当人们被推倒，那时你会说，会起来的；他会拯救谦卑的人。
人使你降卑，你仍可说：必得高升；谦卑的人， 神必然拯救。
When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.

无辜之岛，神要搭救；他因你手中的纯洁，必蒙拯救。
无辜人的岛屿，他会拯救；它会借你手的纯一而被拯救。
人非无辜， 神且要搭救他；他因你手中清洁，必蒙拯救。”
He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.
