然而她的昏暗必不像她从前的痛苦。起初西布伦地和拿弗他利地受小苦，后来她受大苦，就是沿海的路，约旦河外，列邦的加利利。
然而昏暗不会像她从前的烦扰那样，就是当他首先轻微地折磨泽布伦的土地和拿弗他利的土地，后来借这海的道路，超越约旦，在各国的加利利中，更严重地折磨她的时候。
但那受过痛苦的必不再见幽暗。从前　神使西布伦地和拿弗他利地被藐视，末后却使这沿海的路，约旦河外，外邦人的加利利地得着荣耀。
Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.

在黑暗中行走的百姓看见了一个大光，住在死荫之地的人有光照耀他们。

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

你使这国民繁多，却不加增他们的喜乐；他们在你面前欢喜，好像收割的欢喜，像人分掳物那样的快乐。
你已经成倍增加了这国，并没有增加欢喜；他们在你面前的欢喜，就像在收获时的欢喜，又像人们分战利品时的喜乐。
你使这国民繁多，加增他们的喜乐；他们在你面前欢喜，好像收割的欢喜，像人分掳物那样的快乐。
Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.

因为他们所负的重轭和肩头上的杖，并欺压他们人的棍，你都已经折断，好像在米甸的日子一样。
因为你折断了他负担的轭，和他肩上的棍，并他的压迫者的杖，就像在米甸的那天。

For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.

战士在每战之间纷乱的喊声，并那滚在血中的衣服，都必作为可烧的，当作火柴。
因战士的每场战斗都伴随着混乱的响声，和滚在血中的衣服；但这个会伴随着燃烧，和火的燃料。
战士在乱杀之间所穿戴的盔甲，并那滚在血中的衣服，都必作为可烧的，当作火柴。
For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.

因有一孩子为我们而生；有一子给了我们。政权必担在他的肩头上；他名称为奇妙、策士、全能的神、永在的父、和平的君。
因为一个孩子被生给我们，一个儿子被给予我们；政府会在他的肩上；他的名会被称为奇妙，议士，大能的神，永远的父亲，和平的王子。
因有一婴孩为我们而生，有一子赐给我们，政权必担在他的肩头上。他名称为奇妙、策士、全能的　神、永在的父、和平的君。
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

他的政权与平安必加增无穷。他必在大卫的宝座上治理他的国，以公平公义使国坚定稳固，从今直到永远。万军之耶和华的热心必成就这事。
他的政府与和平的增长会没有尽头，他在大卫的王座上，并在他的王国之上，来治理它，并以判决和公正来建立它从这时直到永远。众军的主的热心会执行这事。
他的政权与平安必加增无穷。他必在大卫的宝座上治理他的国，以公平公义使国坚定稳固，从今直到永远。万军之耶和华的热心必成就这事。
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

主差了一句话进入雅各，它照亮了以色列。
主派了一句话进入雅克布，它就照亮了以色列。
主使一言入于雅各家，落于以色列家。
The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.

这众百姓，就是以法莲和撒玛利亚的居民，都要知道；他们凭骄傲自大的心说，
所有的人民，就是以弗瑞和撒玛利亚的居民，都会知道，他们凭骄傲自大的心说，

And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart,

砖墙塌了，我们却要凿石头建筑；桑树砍了，我们却要换香柏树。
砖块倒塌了，但我们要用凿出来的石头建造；西克莫树被砍了，但我们要把它们换成雪松树。
“砖墙塌了，我们却要凿石头建筑；桑树砍了，我们却要换香柏树。”
The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.

因此，耶和华要高举利汛的敌人来攻击他，并要连合他的仇敌在一起。
因此，主会设立瑞茨因的众仇敌来针对他，又要把他的众敌人联合到一起。
因此，耶和华要高举利汛的敌人来攻击以色列，并要激动以色列的仇敌。
Therefore the LORD shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together;

前有叙利亚人，后有非利士人；他们张口要吞吃以色列。虽然如此，他的怒气还未转消；他的手仍伸不缩。
前有叙利亚人，后有菲利士人；他们会以张开的口吞掉以色列。为所有这些事他的气愤不但没有转开，而且他的手仍然伸着。
东有亚兰人，西有非利士人；他们张口要吞吃以色列。虽然如此，耶和华的怒气还未转消；他的手仍伸不缩。
The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

这百姓还没有转向击打他们的主，也没有寻求万军之耶和华。
因这人民没有转向那重击他们的，也没有寻求众军的主。

For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts.

因此，耶和华一日之间必从以色列中剪除头与尾，树枝与芦苇。
因此，主在一天里要从以色列中剪掉头与尾，枝子与芦苇。

Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.

长老和尊贵人就是头，以谎言教人的先知就是尾。
古老者和尊贵者，他就是那头；教导谎话的预言者，他就是那尾。
长老和尊贵人就是头，以谎言教人的先知就是尾。
The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.

因为，引导他百姓的使他们走错了路；被引导的都必败亡。
因为这人民的众带领导致他们犯错；被他们带领的就都被毁灭了。

For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.

所以，主必不喜悦他们的少年人，也不怜悯他们的孤儿寡妇；因为，各人是假冒伪善的，是行恶的，并且各人的口都说愚妄的话。虽然如此，他的怒气还未转消；他的手仍伸不缩。
因此，主不会欢悦他们的年轻人，也不会对他们的无父亲者和寡妇有怜悯；因为每个人都是一个伪善者和一个做坏事者，并且每张嘴都说愚昧的话。为所有这些事他的气愤不但没有转开，而且他的手仍然伸着。
所以，主必不喜悦他们的少年人，也不怜恤他们的孤儿寡妇；因为，各人是亵渎的，是行恶的，并且各人的口都说愚妄的话。虽然如此，耶和华的怒气还未转消；他的手仍伸不缩。
Therefore the LORD shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
18
邪恶像火焚烧，吞灭荆棘和蒺藜，在稠密的树林中着起来，就成为烟柱，旋转上腾。
因邪恶如火焚烧；它会吞灭刺条和荆棘，又会在稠密的树林里着起来，然后它们就会像上升的烟一样上腾。

For wickedness burneth as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke.

因万军之耶和华的烈怒，地都黑暗；百姓成为火柴；无人怜爱他的弟兄。
通过众军的主的怒火，土地黑暗了，并且人民会像火的燃料；没有人会顾惜他的弟兄。

Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother.
20
他必砍下右手，仍受饥饿，他必吞吃左手，仍不饱足；各人吃自己膀臂上的肉。
他会在右手边抢夺，还是饥饿；他会在左手边吃，他们还是不饱足；他们各人要吃自己膀臂上的肉；
有人右边抢夺，仍受饥饿，左边吞吃，仍不饱足；各人吃自己膀臂上的肉。
And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:
21
玛拿西攻击以法莲；以法莲攻击玛拿西，又一起攻击犹大。虽然如此，他的怒气还未转消；他的手仍伸不缩。
马拿西攻击以弗瑞；以弗瑞攻击马拿西；他们又要一起攻击犹大。为所有这些事他的气愤不但没有转开，而且他的手仍然伸着。
玛拿西吞吃（或译：攻击；下同）以法莲；以法莲吞吃玛拿西，又一同攻击犹大。虽然如此，耶和华的怒气还未转消；他的手仍伸不缩。
Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh: and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
